----- ABOUT THE LION'S GATE -----
Each year, on August 8, a special cosmic alignment known as "the Lion’s Gate" occurs. It's a date that has been honoured for thousands of years, with ties to ancient Egypt. The date has also gained power over millennia, due to the layered actions of our ancestors who have celebrated this time.
On this date, Sirius, the brightest star when seen from Earth, aligns with Orion’s belt, the Great Central Sun, our Earth's Sun, Earth, and the Great Pyramid of Giza. During this season, the sun transits through Leo, the sign of the Lion, so this energetic combination opens a galactic portal, known as "The Lion's Gate Portal". The portal is strongest on the 8th of August, but its effects can be felt for a few days either side of this date.
The Lion's Gate portal brings opportunities for manifestation and links us with the constant cycle of Creator energy and power. It's powerful time, and this walk offers a chance for you to review your goals, ready to be energised by the portal. We will walk to clear our energy and meditate on what we would like to create.
----- ABOUT THE WALK -----
The walk follows the coastal Hallett Cove boardwalk. The pace is intended to be relaxed, there will be some steps to climb, and the path will be slightly undulating. The length of time the walk will take is an estimation, and may vary depending upon the fitness and ability of our group members.
During the walk, we will be stopping to set our intentions for the next cosmic cycle, and there will be a short meditation and singing bowl clearing. At times I’ll encourage reduced conversation to allow more mindful engagement with the surrounding plants, elements and land.
We will use red light torches on these walks, which are much kinder to the eyes of any creatures we encounter, and won’t interfere with night vision.
